Satya Yoga Greensburg Teachers

Michelle Keenan, E-RYT 200 and RPYT

Michelle is the owner and co-founder of Satya Yoga, LLC. Her warm, friendly teaching style is rooted in Vinyasa, yet with slower and deeper mindful movement. Vinyasa is a flowing style, linking the body's movement with the breath.  The breath is the tempo, and the body is the dance, giving students the opportunity to tap into their unique rhythm.

Michelle began practicing yoga in 2000, which encouraged her to adopt a more simple, holistic lifestyle. Her teaching career began in 2005 at the first yoga studio in Greensburg, Wisdom and Wonders, Inc., where she was mentored by Tracey Bartos Sheetz, former board member of the Yoga Alliance.  As an Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200) and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) through the Yoga Alliance, Michelle is committed to providing all students with guided instruction based on many years of practice and study, and has learned to not take herself too seriously! Inspired by accessibility and inclusiveness, Michelle's classes are open to everyone who wants to reconnect with their own peaceful nature and authentically connect with others in a playful, nurturing, and safe environment.

Michelle is dedicated to the creation of community.  She volunteers regularly for a local organic farm, and has hosted donation-based yoga classes where 100% of the proceeds go to local organizations that are dedicated to service.

Michelle believes that our time on the mat allows us to observe how we react to life when we're off the mat. It's very important to remember that practicing yoga is not about achieving perfect alignment, or about how one looks. It's about showing up and being present...on the mat, as well as in life.

Mary co-founded Satya Yoga, LLC. in Greensburg, PA , and she is dedicated to sharing yoga with people of all ages throughout the community. Mary believes that our children are our future, and by bringing the practice of yoga into their lives, she is sharing peace, one child at a time, on and off the mat.

Rebecca Day

Rebecca was brought to Yoga through her love of Pilates.  After practicing Pilates for several years, she sought out a deeper understanding of its principles while completing her Masters in Exercise Science.  Through this search, she found Yoga.  Yoga changed her from someone who reacts into someone who can sit back and enjoy life for what it is.  Due to her love of education, she is a teacher of Biology and Anatomy and Physiology, Rebecca attended her first teacher’s training with Wisdom and Wellness in Greensburg in 2009.  This 200-hour teachers’ training gave her the ability to share her knowledge with others.  In 2018, Rebecca attended another 200-hour training with Satya Yoga, also in Greensburg.  She felt the training was a necessary refresher and an opportunity to increase her aptitude in the field.  Rebecca loves both practicing and teaching Yoga, especially strength related classes.  She feels that all students of every level can increase their strength in both mind and body through practice

Roxanne Dolan

Certified yoga instructor Roxanne started practicing yoga when she was pregnant with her first daughter 15 years ago and received her teaching certification in 2008 from Wisdom and Wellness. In 2014 she became certified as a nutritional counselor. She has had firsthand experience with overcoming chronic illness by practicing good nutrition and yoga. Her goal as a yoga instructor is to empower others with the techniques that have helped her. Roxanne is now studying to become a mental health nurse and believes that kindness, self-reflection, and service to others are keys to a more fulfilling life and tries to incorporate these principles in her life, practice, and teaching.

Melissa Marasia

Recently, Melissa completed her Life Coaching certification through Abundant Yogi which provides her with a wholistic approach to tailoring at-home, private yoga offerings.  She is excited to be offering weekly Yoga classes at Satya Yoga and looks forward to our mats crossing this Winter.
